That\u2019s not&nbsp;it&nbsp;yet. \n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/travels\/eastern-europe\/romania\/2023-06-08-salina-turda\/3412.jpg\"><\/li>\n\n<li>Reformed Church on the road to the&nbsp;mine.\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/travels\/eastern-europe\/romania\/2023-06-08-salina-turda\/3413.jpg\"><\/li>\n\n<li>A picturesque wall near the old entrance to the mine.\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/travels\/eastern-europe\/romania\/2023-06-08-salina-turda\/3577.jpg\"><\/li>\n\n<li>Old tunnel to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salinaturda.eu\/en\">Salina Turda<\/a> (about 600&nbsp;m). Twice as long as the new one, but still saves a lot of time and effort.\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/travels\/eastern-europe\/romania\/2023-06-08-salina-turda\/3420.jpg\"><\/li>\n\n<li>Balcony over the bell-shaped <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Joseph_II,_Holy_Roman_Emperor\">Joseph<\/a> hall (laid a year before his birth). The echo here repeats high-pitched sounds up to 20&nbsp;times.\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/travels\/eastern-europe\/romania\/2023-06-08-salina-turda\/3427.jpg\"><\/li>\n\n<li>Infernal machine of 1881. In the light of torches, 4-8 horses turned the arms, lifting bags of salt. Went blind in two weeks, retired in six months.\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/travels\/eastern-europe\/romania\/2023-06-08-salina-turda\/3439.jpg\"><\/li>\n\n<li>Would you please pass the salt?\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/travels\/eastern-europe\/romania\/2023-06-08-salina-turda\/3443.jpg\"><\/li>\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rudolf,_Crown_Prince_of_Austria\">Rudolf<\/a> main hall is 42&nbsp;m high, but the only elevator can accommodate no more than 7 people. If you don\u2019t wanna wait, go tramp on the stairs.\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/travels\/eastern-europe\/romania\/2023-06-08-salina-turda\/3452.jpg\"><\/li>\n\n<li>The thousand-year-old mine was closed in 1932 as unprofitable, until in 2010, for a mere six mil, they turned it into a cultural leisure centre.\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/travels\/eastern-europe\/romania\/2023-06-08-salina-turda\/3456.jpg\"><\/li>\n\n<li>Underground lake in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maria_Theresa\">Theresa<\/a> mine (to the left of the main&nbsp;hall).\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/travels\/eastern-europe\/romania\/2023-06-08-salina-turda\/3499.jpg\"><\/li>\n\n<li>If you go down to the lake and lift your head up, you can see the elevator shaft in a beautiful frame.
